Texas is HOT!

So fires have been springing up all over Texas. One town an hour away has lost 1500 homes and 35,000 acres. Ginger's family came close to losing one of their wedding venus and her brother's house. Her brother's vinyl fence melted right down to the ground but the house is okay. The wedding facility field across the road was all burned down. Close calls. Then today a fire in Salado started and affected a neighborhood where two of my seminary kids live. The mom called me frantic and had me bring the younger kids (12 and 11 ) to my house. They are busy swimming as we speak and they are going to spend the night here. Not sure if the older boys will end up here as well. They are allowed back in the neighborhood now but she is nervous about it flaring up overnight. So scary. It was 106 degrees today and everything is so dry. We have so many stakes fasting for rain. These daily fire scares are wearing on the people. To contrast that we talked about the flood and Noah in seminary today. As we were discussing, I had the kids look at scripture sections and design what their verses were talking about out of clay. I loved Lexi's elephant!

Wow! Those fires are hitting close to home! Ironic that you got to talk about the flood today...too little rain vs. too much rain! The elephant looks awesome!
