 Solomon’s gift

When authorized a wish from God

King Solomon defied the mold 

In lieu of wealth or lavish laud

Elected wisdom over gold

Another hath received his gift

A righteous couples’ eldest child

This Morgan from the truth can sift

A genius born as Texan mild

 

In school her wisdom manifests

Reputed for her calculus 

She rose in rank and quelled the tests

Acclaimed for wit vernaculous 

Beyond mere grades hath spanned her skill

Awareness of inequity

An ideal that we must fulfill 

Promotes without complexity

Her gift extends to written word

By mouth or pen she bears us sway

Doth cause lethargic souls be stirred 

Each piece an eloquent display

With intellect came new world views

Reality hath saints and creed

Which prophesy a King of Jews

And thus adventure drew her heed 

Intelligence applied to bonds

Associates with model folk

A husband who doth correspond 

And friends content to share the yoke

The gift of Solomon refines

When noted shift in attitude 

Our Morgan from her work resigns

Courageous step from insights shrewd

This prudence hath exposed her worth

It’s understood what is deserved

She’ll never settle for the dearth 

For Morgs our God hath boons reserved 

Akin to Solomon before 

As Morgan wise she shall be known
