I made a goal this year to not miss family home evening. So far I have been successful. Tonight I found a great idea on a website to do an experiment with oil, water and food coloring. The boys are all about an experiment so they were really into it. The lesson was being in the world but not of the world and the water represented the world, the oil was us living here but rising above the things of the world. There were really cool scriptures to read along the way. Then you added red food coloring to represent sin and the sin went right through the oil and dirtied the water. Next when you stirred them representing when we sin, everything turned red, but because of the atonement we can repent and then they separated again. It was a lot of fun and easy way to demonstrate several good gospel principles.
