Coming and Going

 Today we headed early up to Temple to listen to Wyatt give his homecoming talk. Cooper McGowan was giving his farewell talk.  Cooper talked about a trip he and his dad and two brothers took a year ago. They were planning on hiking the from rim to rim on the Grand Canyon.  Lori dropped them off at 5 am and they headed off in their matching Walmart t-shirts and shorts and it was 34 degrees. Brett had factored in that it would take them 12 hours so Lori and the sister in laws would be waiting at 5pm on the other side.  At  10 pm they still had a couple miles to go.  He talked about the tender mercies they experienced along the way, how his head lamp went out and his other brother shared his light with him and would read scriptures along the way to tie in the story.  It was so good. 

Wyatt shared how he saw Jesus Christ change lives and how he saw that over and over. He also talked about the tools of prayer, scripture study, the sacrament and the atonement of Jesus Christ make all the difference. They did such a good job and then after 2nd hour we headed to Gingers for spanish food like empanadas, paella, churros, etc   Michelle is about to leave to pick up Rylee and then she will be sending Luke off on his mission.  Matt will be sending Tyler off right away too. It is always fun to catch up with everyone!  

A Sunday surprise.  Sitting outside on my swing and I look up and see this beautiful rainbow.  I love the reminder of God's promises.
