Liturgy of the Ordinary

 Morgan turned me on to a book to read and I am about half way through.  I had to look up the word liturgy to even know what the book was about!  Liturgy A form according to which public religious worship, especially Christianity worship is conducted.   One part I really loved was when the priest will go to the congregants homes and dedicate their homes.  Rick just did that to this home a few weeks ago and so this really stood out to me.  This priest goes to each room of the house and offers a specific blessing on that room.  The bathroom really was beautiful to me.. He prayed that when people look into the mirror they would see themselves as beloved images of God.  He prays that they would not relate to their bodies with the categories the world give them, but instead according to the truth of who they are to Christ.

We have never been that specific when we dedicate our homes but it made me really think about each room in my home and how I could better use that room to reflect by love for and relationship with my Savior.  

In my inklings study today they were taking about the talk by Elder Cook, Be true to God and his work.  In this talk he is pleading with us to work on our testimonies and relationship with our Heavenly Father.  One of the guests mentioned a talk that was given by Neil Marriott at BYU.  She was from Louisiana and she said she and her siblings would sit by the side of the road in the hot sun in their swimsuits when it was about time for their dad to get home from work. They would watch for his car to come around the bend.  When he did they would jump up and run to him and he would run in and get his suit on and take them to the pool.  She said, you might ask why 3 kids would sit in the hot sun, because we knew our Father.  They then asked Do we know Him?  Are we watching for Him to come around the bend because we trust him and know that he will show up because He always keeps his promises.  They were talking about how the prophet has told us to seek and expect miracles.  I just loved that thought!  I know that we are blessed with miracles big and small all the time and sometimes we don't even notice them especially small tender mercies.
