Friends make the world go round!

Lexi, Katherine Wilden, Katherine Coleman and Mary on FaceTime since she lives in Texas.  They  were missing Cassidy and Lindsay but theses girls have done this for nine years.  They all met freshmen year at BYU and have been such good friends.

Friday night we met up with Paul and G for dinner.  We always have such a good time together!

We had stake conference this weekend and it was so good.  We are in very good hands with our new stake presidency and we have actually had FaceTime visits with all three of them.  President Loderup is from Sweden and so his accent is fun to listen too.  His wife had the same brain tumor as Rick but when they were only married six years and had three little kids.  They only gave her 2-4 months to live and he talked about how the temple was their place of refuge.  She survived but she has had it recur 3 more times and with each surgery and treatment, her brain is more and more damaged and she is foggy and can't think clearly all the time.  She also is unstable and has broken her back and recently her hip so she is in a wheel chair.  But he says not once has she ever doubted God' s plan for her and how temple worship has been their focus their whole lives.  When she was not able to serve in the temple due to her unstableness and injuries she would go with him and he would set her up in a hotel and he would go and do his shift.  He was so emotional as he shared their story and his love for his wife, his Savior, and the temple.  So powerful.  Rick has taken care of her a couple times and they are just a wonderful couple.   I just am an awe of the goodness of some people and their unwavering devotion to being disciples of Christ.  So inspiring to me.   It did make me a little worried about Rick having recurrences but I tried not to focus on that.

President Woodfield told a couple funny personal stories and tied those into the gospel.  One of which was when he was a young boy they went on a family vacation and stayed at this resort.  After a day at the pool, his dad wanted to get back to get in the shower first before all the family made their way.  He got off the elevator and went to use the key card and realized they had not latched the door all the way shut.  He went in and all seemed ok, so he got in the shower.  He got out and wrapped this skimpy towel around him and went out to get his clothes.  He realized that his clothes were gone and so were the suitcases.  He opened this last closet and there were clothes in there but not his families.  He realized that he was in the wrong room.  He hurried and put his wet swimsuit back on which is always difficult and made his way out and into the right room.  He was so thankful the real occupants of the room did not return while he was in the shower, or in that towel and how uncomfortable he would have been.  He likened that to when we meet the Savior and how when we are prepared we will not have that horrible sinking feeling of being seen.

Anyway the other one was a fish story but so good.  Excited to get the boys in a couple days and decorate for Christmas and eat yummy Thanksgiving food!

I snapped a few pics of Grey's proofs since Kayla isn't going to get any.  I love how puffy his hair is!  He is such a funny little man!
