Surgery Done!

 Caden had his surgery yesterday.  I took these pics of his profile and straight on before and we will see how it looks after.  It will take around 3 months for it to have most of the swelling down and a full year before complete healing and result.  I took him to the surgery center in Austin yesterday. We had to be there at 7 and they took him back at 7:30.  He got a little light headed when they did the IV.  They said it would be around 3 hours and they would call us when he was done since he would be in recovery for an hour before they released him.  I headed home and Rick went back.  The doc called Rick and said his deviated septum was worse than they had planned on and so it took longer and they had to do some different techniques.  They got home around 2 and he has been a trooper.  They gave him some Vicodin for the pain but he has only taken Tylenol.  He didn't handle the pain meds when he had his kidney stones and they made him throw up a lot so he wanted to avoid those if at all possible.  The pain has been totally ok for him with just Tylenol.  He will go back next Thursday and they will move the stitches and cast over his nose.  He cannot shower until then and can only take baths.  So now the healing can begin and he said he can already breath better than he has before!
