Easter Treasure Hunt 2015
Well, it seems we are all together for Easter
Maybe for the very last time
So we will continue our tradition
Of an egg hunt set to rhyme
So just to let you know ahead
Your dad likes to tease a bit
You might hear a rhyme about yourself
So please don’t throw a fit
And ‘member when all is said and done
Easter is about much more
Than bunnies, eggs, and treasure
But about a Heavenly Door
It was opened by our big Brother
He walks, and talks, and gives
A chance to have eternal life
Though He was dead, He Lives
So think of His gift often
As you enjoy your family this day
Ponder what you can do better
As you follow Him, He is the way
Clue 1
The boy has grown like a weed
Eating just cereal for feed
But as he gets tall
Have to watch he don’t fall
‘Cause he is still as thin as a reed
Blake likes to think he can shoot
And it seems he has talent to boot
Obsessed you could say
Other games he wont play
To consider another option is moot
So you might start to look where he dresses
Or where he makes most of his messes
You might need a hand
Don’t look in his nightstand
For the precious of all he possesses
Clue 2
Caden must be a ninja at heart
Ancient weapons are his secret art
He once was a larper
Now his play things are sharper
And our milk jugs are flying apart
So look near the scene of the crime
Where he wields his katana sublime
And you’ll find the next clue
And a present or two
Just pray that you get there in time
Clue 3
Lou Lou is just back from Spain
Expert traveler by bus or by train
Now she might go in style
For mile after mile
In a borrowed car in the fast lane
With new nickname dark luscious in tow
She might head to a concert or show
She’ll be practicing Spanish
Making gasoline vanish
She’s a girly who just likes to go
But she doesn’t have much closet space
When she gets home from her daily race
Where could she put her coat?
From her room quite remote
Better look in this obvious place
Clue 4
Yogi Ashley is our oldest girl
We were blessed with this eskimo pearl
If you lose her just look
She’s the one with the book
If it’s a classic she’d give it a whirl
She’s just back from a mission you know
She is eager to learn and to grow
Her diet’s a breeze
Wrap a meat and a cheese
And back to her reading she’ll go
So time to figure out a new clue
Something missionaries might do
To get to and fro
On this thing they could go
But don’t wreck your head black and blue
Clue 5
Lammyfur’s doing cross-fit
To being skinny she’d really commit
Burpies galore
Bounding up from the floor
That girl has got some true grit
She recently did a fit test
It told her she’s up from the rest
Now she can’t hide
Her ‘superior’ pride
Convinced now that she is the best
She’s a mom that’s hard to beat
Even when not doing a physical feat
But it’s time to seek
Run but don’t freak
Kicks on when you turn up the heat
Clue 6
Now I’m sure you will be pleased
Its finally dads turn to be teased
‘That’s where they make honey’
Or credit card funny
Many goof-ups I’m sure could be seized
If you ride with me better beware
I like to gawk off the road and to stare
Or I stumble and fall
Some awkward sprawl
I am fighting just to keep my hair
All this is getting me down
I’m feeling about like a clown
If you need me I’ll be
Under a tree
With a pot stuck halfway in the ground
Clue 7
The Daniels are one diverse clan
It must be part of some master plan
Its nice to be close
Soon to say adios
Better hang out here while we still can
Time to go back to the start
Searching with head and with heart
Look high or look low
Wherever you go
Choose always the better part
Clue 8
Jack is a hideous beast
Always looking for food or to feast
But he is smart
And he has a good heart
We will miss him when he is deceased
Of course we wish him no harm
He has style and a certain charm
Not really a slouch
Banned from the couch
In the room with the walls of a farm
Clue 9
Little Sister is furry and warm
If you take her bone she will transform
A guttural growl
Wild animal howl
And come after you like a mini storm
But mostly Gracie is sweet
To sit on you lap is her treat
When she goes out the door
She likes to explore
Round the back yard for things she might eat
Clue 10
This might just be the last clue
So if you’re looking for something to do
You might have to ride
To dads favorite hide
And search for something to break into
Maybe for the very last time
So we will continue our tradition
Of an egg hunt set to rhyme
