Last Weekend Before School Starts!

The boys had a busy weekend starting with Thursday hike into a remote camping area.  Rick went with the boys and two others early to set up camp.  The other boys were coming with leaders getting off work and Rick knew they would arrive after dark.  Sure enough they didn't get to the campsite until 10 pm.  Rick had to do a radio ad in Austin that morning so he had to leave right then.  Blake was very worried about him hiking out by himself in the dark.  He thought if he fell and broke his leg, he would need help.  (so cute) so Blake and Rick hiked out in the dead of night and got home almost one.  Then the next day they went to another camp out and Saturday went boating and water skiing on the lake.  Came home and showered, doctored their chigger and mosquito bites, and got ready for their first dance!!  The YM's pres sent us a couple shots showing proof of the dancing.  They danced all slow dances and they either asked or were asked.  The girls in the picture are two girls from our ward.  The boys said that if you didn't scoot fast all the girls were gone.  I am so glad they had fun and were not too shy to ask girls.  They both were a bit nervous but now that the first one is over, I think they will look forward to them!   They start school tomorrow and Lexi flies back to Utah tomorrow.  She is excited to get back started and has decided to go into nursing with the end goal of being a Physicians assistant.  She was thinking medical school but with all the time commitment and money and wanting to be a mom eventually she thought this was a better avenue.  PA school is very hard to get into and she will have to work as a nurse for a couple years before she can apply. Texas and Utah both have top ranked PA schools.  She is very exited but has a super hard semester.  She had to change her classes last minute and she had ordered her books for the other schedule ad somehow the order did not go through allowing her to get her new books without the expense of ordering the wrong ones.  We sure are going to miss her calming influence over our boys, but life is an ever changing entity and we are so excited for her.  I will have to take the boy's back to school photo tomorrow!

Glad they liked the dance....tell them to enjoy it because it only lasts a couple of years and then they seem to fizzle out!
