5 Little Piggies
Our RS night turned out so good and we had 25 ladies come which is a record for our group! The ladies that did our mini classes were so awesome and fun to listen to. Going to Market was on making SMART choices and each of the letters stood for ways to avoid impulse buying etc, stayed home was on using essential oils for you and your family, ones for headaches, calming, etc. This was really interesting to me and I want to learn more about it, had Roastbeef was from our awesome sister who is such a great presenter and talked about meals in the family. She has three little girls and another one on the way, (her husband is a sport fanatic and so fun that he gets these little girls) The speak italian and spanish to each of the girls. They are 2, 4, 7 and they all eat on china even the little one, she always sets a pretty table and new food like veggies are served in tiny dishes like prep bowls, it makes it pretty and exciting for them to try. The kitchen is closed at 11, at 4 and at 7. She only make one meal but it includes protein, starch, veggie and fruit, never dessert except at special occasions. She said for them to feel hunger is normal and a big difference from being hungry (like starving kids) The children have to try everything but they do not have to finish it, if they do not like anything after they have tried it they do not get other options. She makes sure to have at least one thing everyone likes on the plate. Tall baby(her hubby) is the worst offender of the rules but she was raised by a passionate cook who was raised by a mom that trained in France and she is passionate about meal times. She gave us a list of ten things to do when raising kids to eat and I failed on almost all of them! It was fun to listen to and see her love for it! Had none was on the blessing of the fast. This sister told of her evolution of fasting and how important it is to couple it with prayer. So great. Then for our WEE WEE WEE over to the dessert table where we had pigs in a blanket, piggy pops, eclairs and a pink raspberry/mint drink.
All in all a very successful night and all of our new move in sisters joined us so that was fun. They are a great group of sisters and will add immensely to our ward!
