Arrive in Venice

Getting ready for our 9+ hour flight to London.  

We left Austin around 7:30 pm and arrived at 3:30' am our time but 10 am London time. We were able to sleep a bit on the plane  Had a three hour layover in London and people watched and listened to all the accents!  Landed im Venice, met up with the driver who tool us to our water taxi which took us to our hotel.   Everything is built on the water! Today we will walk to Marks square!

Crazy how Venice is just floating on water!  You go over so many bridges walking around. Could not drive here. Water taxis, gondolas and walking! 

My highlights of Venice were the colorful buildings, no cars or bikes, our hotel garden, the weather was lovely, our buffet breakfast at the hotel was amazing both mornings.  I had panna cotta, tiramasu and gelato everyday.  We walked for hours straight both days.  The food in the restaurants were very bland in Venice and you can smoke anywhere you want so we would have people smoking all around us while we tried to eat.  Did not love that.  The people were very friendly and dogs here just walk around without their owners but they have collars on.  I guess because they really can't go anywhere and can't be hit by cars.  I was surprised how many dogs were here considering there really is no green space at all.
