Easter 2017
-->
Only
two babies to run in this race
No
Morgan, no Lexi, they’re gone off to school
Just
Caden and Blake, but they’re pretty cool
So
off with you then, no time to wait
Head
out the door, and pass through the gate
You’re
looking for something out in the yard
Keep
your eyes in the trees, it shouldn’t be hard
That
wasn’t so bad, could have been worse
You
might have just found a baby girl purse
The
next clue might be kind of tough
Look
for the ball you might hit from the rough
Not
to bad fellas, your doing just fine
Pray
hard, you’ll be needing assistance divine
Hope
you don’t get altitude sick
Sifting
through decor of the dude named Nick
There
once was a pup named Jack
He
got some fat rolls on his back
Does
tricks for a treat
Don’t
dare touch his feet
Lets
boot him and we’ll never lack!
So
look where he might lay all day
Little
fat fat is what you would say
Hair
all over the place
Too
chubby to race
I
guess we’ll just let him stay
Then
the little stinker named Gracie
So
cute and frilly and lacey
Kinda
empty her head
As
she lays in her bed
She
drives Jack a little bit crazy
When
we come home she wiggles her butt
She’s
mostly a tender heart mutt
She
runs up and down
Like
she’s wearing a crown
To the
neighbor she shows off her strut
Now
Caden should call himself flip
His
parkour is really a trip
With
his back, side, and cork
He
puts in the work
We’re
just praying he won’t fall or trip
It
used to be Arrow his love
But
now is there a ninja above?
He
keeps himself lean
On
his trampoline
Get
jumping but mind you don’t shove
The
Blakester is still Nathan Drake
Dreams
of cruising the forests and lake
Just
sneaking along
Shooting's
his song
Fallen
bad guys filling his wake
Now
he’s grooving on that Wolverine
A
movie he shouldn’t have seen
Sings
the song of Hurt
Good
as a concert
On
the biggest screen
Sweet
Lexi is tying the knot
The
best girl in Texas he got
Her
name will be Jones
But
down in her bones
The
Daniels just won’t be forgot
She’s
fixin to be her a nurse
In
her studies she’s tried to immerse
Rocking
strait A’s
Squeezing
her days
So
someday she might fill her purse
Morgan’s
our full time scholar
But
sometimes she just wants to holler
Its
so hard to choose
Which
subject to lose
When
you just want to study them aller
But
now she’s narrowed it down
She
could edit or manage a town
Decisions
are tough
Is
one path enough?
Choosing
might still make her frown
But
we trust she will make the right choice
As
she follows the still and small voice
She
has every talent
A
spirit so gallant
Find
her image and you will rejoice
And
what about Lammy Jo Fur
So
pretty, and spunky, demure
The
Mom of our home
To
crossfit she’ll roam
Spreading
her light that’s so pure
Dreams
of a french country abode
At
the end of Graystone Lane road
A
private retreat
A
pathway to beat
And
a creekbed where water has flowed
Thank
you for playing this quest
Time
to remember what’s best
At
this time of year
Him
who’s so dear
More
important than all the rest
He
took upon Himself all of our fault
Through
staggering pain the assault
His
love so complete
Accepting
this feat
To
his brothers and sisters exalt
We had our annual Easter limerick treasure hunt Saturday and then the boys went paintballing with Rick. They had a great time even though Blake got tore up by fire ants on one of his arms. Those bites take forever to clear up. Sunday we were treated to a beautiful sacrament with words about our Savior and music. Rick had to go into work that afternoon so the boys and I had a simple dinner of brisket, potatoes, and mushrooms.
Last night we got a call from a member in our ward, their 17 year old granddaughter was killed in an auto accident. She was the youngest of four girls. I just cannot imagine but it sure made me grateful for this Easter season and the reminder that death is not the end. Because of our Savior, we can be filled with hope at these darkest of times.
