(picture of Jack's swollen ear! One is up and one he can't lift)Blake and Jack have had medical issues with both involving swelling. First Jack somehow got a hematoma on his ear and so he couldn't raise it up. He had to go to the vet for a couple days while they put him out and did a little surgery on him. He know has a lot of stitches and he is not a fan! Blake if you remember had his swollen lips from Motrin a couple years ago. We have avoided Motrin since then. Monday he had a fever and sore throat so Rick gave him four chewable aspirin. A couple hours later we get a call from the school to get him as his lips were beginning to swell. Benadryl seemed to do the trick and we thought he was fine. Next night his lips were swelling again, gave him benadryl again. Then this morning as he came down for breakfast we could actually see his swelling happening. His lips, his eyes, his forehead and then he added hives all over his back, neck and arms. Called Rick and we gave him some meds and he called in an epi pen to have on hand in case the swelling affects his airway. Called the allergist today and usually you can't get in for a month but because of his symptoms they are getting him in Friday. We need to figure out what all he has a reaction too! Those of you that know Blake know that he has an anxiety issue and so this is not the best kid to have this type of stuff happen to. He was sure he was going to die and went off to pray that he would be okay. The prayer brought on his tears, but I assured him that he was going to be ok! So I am home nursing two invalids! As you can see they are comforting each other!
