Rick's Annual Easter Treasure Hunt!!

Clue 1There once was a guy named Dad
A genius for rhyming? Not bad
If it was a limerick
He knew he could kick it
His Easter egg hunt was just rad
So lets get the show on the road
And tear up our humble abode
SOUP will be steaming
Teeth will be gleaming
If you can decipher the code
Clue#2 (Soup Pot)
Now you're prepared for the worst
Take care of your teeth at the first
To brush and to floss
Preventing the loss
Of your smile and romance be cursed
So hop, skip and jump like a bunny
You kids are so awesome and funny
Although you are spoiled
Your hearts are not soiled
Now run off and feed your horse Sunny
Clue #3 (Sunny's hay)
I hope that your paying attention
The meaning of Easter I mention
The Savior is risen
Sin can be forgiven
Atoned for us, then the ascension
Proceed with some thought on the matter
You should be happy not sadder
Now this life is bright
A stunning delight
To REPLACE DARKNESS you might need a ladder
Clue#4 (lightbulb cabinet)
Not bad crew, you're doing quite well
You might have a story to tell
Be careful the chips
Might add to the hips
Leaving you shaped like a bell
It might do some good to run laps
Around the yard little saps
Or maybe some labor
For us or the neighbor
Like trimming the lawn perhaps
Clue#5 (by the mower)
Great work, you are all on a roll
Beware, larping can take a toll
Smacked in the eye
Making you cry
Feel like hiding your head in a hole
But enough teasing poor Caden Vance
He can fight with the air like a dance
His heart is pure gold
Reading scriptures so bold
You might look next where he keeps his pants
Clue #6 (Boys pants drawer)
This clue is about our sweet gunner
A reader, a beautiful runner
I'm speaking of Morgan
She can't play the organ
But, she can score on a test like its funner
She stresses and fusses while preparing
Makes flash cards, the volume is scaring
She has a sweet ride
The next clue is inside
Girls can crank up the tunes without caring
Clue#7 (Girl's Car)
This clue is about little Blake
Stop sucking your thumb, heaven's sake
Loves Solo and Potter
Jack Sparrow is hotter
These his heroes not cartoons, too fake
The guy will eat food that is white
Noodles with butter his delight
Loves a nilla wafer
Perhaps it is safer
You'll climb to the next clue a height
Clue #8 (Treehouse)
Finally it's time for our Lexi
She's awesome, and bubbly and sexy
Called Dooley Cheeks
She dreams of the geeks
She can network, the master of texting
She might ask for veggies and fresh fruit
Go all day, and all night, she's a hoot
Not really a driver
A driver's test striver
Go look round the pool for the loot
Clue#9 (Pool equipment)
I hope you are all having fun
As crissing and crossing you run
You'll make it a day
Playstation to play
For the hunting is just about done
So gird up your loins and be stout
And think of your blessings about
This place is our home
But sometimes we roam
Through this passage you might just drive out
Clue #10(Driveway)
To the end of your journey you've come
Goodies and presents you've some
Remember what's true
And good works to do
We're here like the Lord to Become
Some say that life is a great race
The struggle and challenge embrace
What others don't know
The direction to go
Where we pray, we look up to his face
(living room where we have family prayer)
I missed this year's hunt because Ginger and I went to the temple for our Relief Society Fill the Temple Day. I don't like doing the hunt on Sunday so we can focus on the more spiritual side of Easter. I am glad Rick documented with pictures so I could see a bit of the fun they had. This is one of our traditions the kids look forward to the most!! The love the clues their dad does.
(All in their pajamas still!!!)
