Maverick and Goose Take a Road Trip

 Rick came home from church and said he wanted to go somewhere.  He doesn't work until Thursday and so he was itching to get out of dodge.  He mentioned the coast, but it wouldn't be warm enough to enjoy the water and a lot is still closed due to Covid so he then thought one last ski trip for the year.  He got to go one day in January with the girls.  So he and Blake packed their bags and headed off to Santa Fe, New Mexico.  It is a ten hour drive so they will get pretty far today and then drive the rest in the morning.  Ski Monday and Tuesday and then drive back on Wednesday.  He has been wanting to do a road trip even though I have him scheduled to drive to Utah in April.  He may get two in.  He was wearing his top gun shirt so I called them Maverick and Goose.  The hand movement is something Tom Cruise does and makes some load noises so they are doing that.  I will have to add any pics they send me of their trip!

The guys have had a fun time so far.  They chose to snowboard instead of skiing so that has been fun. Blake did a lot better and Rick was impressed from his last time snowboarding.  They will ski for the better part of today and then start the drive back tonight and make it half way.  It is nice to split the ten hour drive over two days.  I am glad that Rick was able to get a little road trip in.  He has been wanting to for a few months.  April he will drive to Utah to take the girls their boxes from childhood and maybe a few pieces of furniture for Morgan's house that we have had in storage.
